So much pink salt that the store is glowing. This is The Meadow, a salt boutique where, it seems, you can purchase pretty much any kind of salt you can imagine. (Here’s a look inside. And here's the manifesto.) Bonus: you can taste them all before you buy. My favorites were the smoked varieties (cherry blossom from Japan and guava smoked from Hawaii).
This is the reason why I love living in NYC so much... only here can one find an entire store (often many clustered in a 'district') devoted to the most seemingly common of items; like salt, or buttons, or ribbons, or rocks, or socks, or fossils... As much as it is overwhelming to the visitor here in the city, I get a cultural shock when I travel and can't find a store entirely devoted to olive oil, for instance...
