World Financial Center

Lobster rolls by the river: lovely—and expensive. (This size was $15; there’s a larger one for $27.) I thought this one was pretty good, but Midtown Lunch didn’t love it. In addition to Ed’s Lobster Bar, there are a couple of other food kiosk options currently out here at the marina—until October 31 (when I’m pretty sure eating seafood outdoors won’t seem so wonderful).

  1. $15 is the standard price for a lobster roll in Maine! Up there they probably don't need to adjust to market prices since they have a captive (tourist) market. What I did discover and came to love in Maine, which may be harder to come by in NY, are soft shelled lobsters.

  2. Yeah, maybe $15 isn't so bad. It just seemed like a lot for a takeout lunch! I'm always thinking this "lobster glut" I keep hearing about would make things cheap.
