8th Street and Broadway

Pigeon mosaic in the subway station. Which reminded me that I wanted to link to these photos of pigeons on top of the Empire State Building, in which they seem almost glamorous, for a moment, rather than a nuisance. (Visit the website of New York City Pigeon Rescue Central if you want to “make a difference by helping a New York City Pigeon.”)

  1. Have you ever seen a baby pigeon? Even the photo of the 'baby' rescued in the box with the mother looks like a full grown bird. The kids used to ask me all the time why there were no baby pigeons in NYC since all the birds seem to be similar in size. I wonder too...

  2. No, I've never seen babies, or even nests. All pigeons look full-grown to me.

  3. So, where are they? I suppose this is just another mystery of life here in the big city!
